Robert "Bobby" W. Smith

Robert Wayne Smith, known affectionately as Bobby, passed away on July 12, 2024, in Butler, Missouri, at the age of 70 after a short but hard-fought battle with cancer. Born on July 5, 1954, in Butler, Bobby spent his entire life in the Rich Hill community he loved. He is remembered for his warm smile, ornery blue eyes, and loyal friendships.

Bobby dedicated over 40 years of his career to Coca-Cola, where his hardworking and diligent nature was well respected, however, he was an outdoorsman at heart. An avid hunter, Bobby was particularly fond of duck hunting. His love for the outdoors extended to fishing, camping, spending time at the lake, gardening, and enjoying the KC Chiefs and Royals.

He was a beloved figure in his family, survived by his daughters Jessica (Zac) Skinner, Jennifer (Craig) Klinksick, Kristen (Darrin) Morrow, and Megan (Gabe) Cantrell. He was also a proud grandfather to Jameson, Savannah, Will, Blake, Gunnar, Kennen, Ragan, Nash, and Izzy. His brothers, Clifford (Wanda) Smith and Richard (Debbie) Smith, along with nephews Aaron and Brian and niece Nikki. His countless friends including Mark Yohe will remember him fondly. Bobby's cherished dog, Hedge, also survives him. Bobby was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia (Ragan) Smith; parents, Earl and Ora Lee (Philpot) Smith; a sister Sharon (Smith) Molder; his friend, Elroy Tourtillott, and many loyal dogs.

The family will receive friends at Rich Hill Christian Church on Monday, July 22, beginning with a wake at 9:30 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11 AM. Bobby's memory will be honored as a man of unwavering kindness, great friendships, and a profound appreciation for nature and kinship.
